Saleena Sadasivan is a London-based writer, director, and producer of Indian Keralean heritage, who explores cultural identity, spirituality, and social justice in her work. With a career spanning film, and drama, her work harmonises cross-generational narratives with philosophical depth, rooted in the teachings of Advaita Vedanta. A mother, grandmother, and former relationship mediator, Saleena infuses her art with empathy, humour, and a profound commitment to societal transformation. Saleena’s
work is deeply informed by her study of Advaita Vedanta under the guidance of Narayana Gurukula in Kerala.

I came to London from Kerala, India in 1973, aged 14. I was passionate about acting while I was in Kerala. Won Best Actor award in a drama competition at Sivagiri High School when I was in the 8th standard. Acted in 2 further dramas before I came to London. Once in London, I concentrated on my studies and it was when I was starting my 2nd year undergraduate studies at Imperial College,
Mission was formed and I was elected as the youngest member of the Founding Committee. The below is a write-up about the drama activities I was involved in at the Mission since its formation. 

ശ്രീനാരാണയഗുരുവിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി പാദമുദ്ര, രാജശില്പി തുടങ്ങിയ സൂപ്പർഹിറ്റ് ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ സംവിധായകനും ചിത്രകാരനുമായ ശ്രീ ആർ സുകുമാരൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് 2010-ൽ പ്രദർശനത്തിനെത്തിയ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് "യുഗപുരുഷൻ". ആ ചിത്രത്തിലെ 'ഒരു മതവും അന്യമല്ല ..." എന്ന ഗാനത്തിന്റെ ദൃശ്യാവിഷ്കാരമാണ്  "ഗുരുവന്ദനം". മുതിർന്നവരും കുട്ടികളുമടക്കം പതിനഞ്ചിലധികം വ്യക്തികൾ പങ്കെടുത്ത ഈ കലാസൃസ്ടി ഏഴു മിനിറ്റോളം നീണ്ടുനിന്നു.
